“When the sun goes down, and stars come out
And all that counts, is HERE and NOW”
Believe me you, when I say that I stared at the curser for a good 20 min before I actually started penning down how amazing, nostalgic I feel telling you guys about my “out of this world” ( well that’s what my friends thought i said all the time) trip to GOA.
It would most definitely be an understatement to say that travel has my heart! The closest ones around me know how it isn’t just another whim among the thousands that I already have, nor a dream that I wish to fulfill by the time I am done here, but something that uplifts my soul from the very core which is why I see this wandering, exploring, travelling more, being a tourist less as a way of life I want to have( going all writer-ish on you as a disclaimer that I might get a little overwhelmed when I talk about my travel stories, but bare with me ❤ )
Well, I guess this is the first time after my london documentation that I am blogging about my vacation. For my very lovely, ardent readers ( you guys are the best ❤ ) , you must have noticed there is a new travel section that’s been added on the blog and it’s going to be very very different than my usual Fashion/ beauty posts obviously. Those of you who are on my snapchat (nikitamehra) would know the crazy crazy things we did on our little getaway and I cannot wait to share it all with you! (Disclaimer no.2: It is going to be long, so grab a glass of chilled watermelon juice, lay back and put scrolling through your facebook/instagram feed on hold for a while)
DAY 1
We , and by that I mean me and my 4 friends, took an early morning flight so that we could make the most of the day. We touched down Goa at about noon and we headed straight to the hotel. The drive was great , made even better with all the excitement.
We were staying at Estrela Do Mar Beach resort, on beach Calangute and oh my it was everything you’d want! It is really cosy, exotic and very goan. It has sweet little cottages with a beautiful green pathway in the middle leading straight to the beach!
We headed straight to the open restaurant( this place has 2 of them if I remember correctly) and after a hearty meal and with a breath taking view , our cottage beds had us calling.
When napping time was over , we headed to beach Candolim which I am sure most of you know, is really lively, prettyy and just plain gorgeous.
We were just chilling, taking in the breeze and well for me I was trying to get a selfie right for instagram ( you know the perfect breeze, sunset and the beach life, YES! obviously that makes for a great upload and gives me reason enough to try a 100 times to get it right #sorrynotsorry) when we made an impromptu decision to go jet ski ! We took two of them, because there were 4 of us, and oh boy ’twas SO MUCH FUN!
Our last stop for the day was Club Cabana which again a lot of you must know is gorgeously built.
DAY 2
We kick started our day by hitting the beach, and LITERALLY just laying in those beach beds -with fancy colored umbrellas flowing gloriously because of the constant breeze, soft but really really hot sand and a lot of good looking world citizens-for a couple of hours that went by talking about how this is the dream life and never wanting to go back to Delhi, among other things.
After a relaxed afternoon by the pool, all decked up we headed to Thalassa, on beach Vagator for a relaxed evening. Saying that it was gorgeous or showing you a glimpse of it through my amateur photography wont do justice, but you know me? I’ll try!
The foooood was heavenly( To my belief, the best I had in the entire of Goa) and the only thing that topped the yummy meal was an even yummier company with the yummiest view of all times! Palm trees, the endless sea and a glass of port wine and small talk! I was feeling my happiest self!
Our admiration for the place was interrupted by two really talented dancers! I could judge from the constant hooting and hundreds of excited iphones video filming them , that everyone else was taken by surprise likewise. This performance was then followed by a couple more, and we never got tired of them.
We decided to end the already magical day with a candle light dinner by the sea. And I mean that literally. In the middle of nowhere, was laid out our table on a beach shore being washed away gently by the waves. Thousands of stars above us, cold sand beneath us and cool breeze pampering my already spoilt hair.
We were living The Good Life.
Looks amazing there
