~You are as precious as a Pearl
And to help you realize just that, all you need to do is follow your heart!
The road isn’t going to be the one everyone takes and it might appear more curvy but the journey will be so soul enriching that you will find the destination worth it!
Hi my angels ❤
How are you all doing today? A part of growing up in India implies parents and the society constantly telling us to pursue a “serious” profession: be a doctor, or a professor or the CEO of a fancy MNC. And sometimes that’s okay!
But for those other times and for those people like me, the universe has other plans. Our calling isn’t logging into the office at 8:30 am in a sharp grey suit, but being awake till midnight to design it to perfection. For some of us , our calling isn’t just building our home , but helping others design theirs too.
To let our passion lead us into a successful profession , one needs correct guidance, a conducive environment full of like minded individuals and professionals and a lot of courage.
Most of you who have been following my fashion journey would know that I am originally from an economics background. Yes, the safe , reputed , hamara shareef bacha, academics field!
To a lot of people around me, fashion and design and everything even remotely related to it was a great hobby! But just a hobby! They thought it was too uncertain to be a profitable profession. There is a book that I am reading these days, the cover of which says YOU ARE A BADASS. Break stereotypes. Explore. Laugh. Love a lot. Live your Dreams . My appetite for fashion was so huge that I didn’t even wait for a plate full of fancy fashion degrees before starting my blog. And today looking at how many of you have become a part of my e fam, I feel so glad to have taken that step!
A lot of such inspirational stories and ‘pearls of wisdom’ are being shared in the recently launched #IAmPearl campaign that I stumbled upon a few days ago. This campaign has a lot of young, talented and creative individuals sharing their stories on instagram and other social medias! You can find students talking about why they are proud to be a pearlite, teachers sharing their creative ideas, methods of practice and knowledge, as well as budding and established fashion designers and influencers sharing the obstacles they overcame to be where they are today!
