How are you guys doing? As for me, I am sitting down to write this fashion centric post in my new office from my new Mac. Phew! So many important updates of my life so quickly. So yes, I have an office now! And it is as exciting as it can get. I also gifted myself a new Macbook pro. Which is only doubling my excitement levels. But what I mostly want you all to focus on right now is the fashion centric part of it. Starting today, every 2-3 days, I will share with you all a heavy -on-fashion post talking about styling and beauty hacks, reviews, and just about anything that proves super duper useful to the fashionista inside of you. These posts are totally going to be about my opinions and I will express the same after a lot of research, internet surfing, instargram and Pinterest scrolling and basically sum up what I saw and found attractive in all the amazing blogs and social media platforms out there, just basically get all that you need to know about that topic .In one place. HERE! For you guys <3
And for today's post, I thought what's better than starting with different ways to style the classic button down white shirt for women. We all own one. I truly believe it's a wardrobe essential!!! It can be paired with almost anything and can be worn almost anywhere!!!.Let's just straight up dive into how to style a crisp , classic, basic button down white shirt.
This can be oversized if you like , so you might want to consider raiding your brother or boyfriend or best friend's closet! Or not.. It can also be fairly fitted, thin silky cloth like ones you get in Zara and Marksandspencer or even sometimes h&m.We can also diy it into a cropped white shirt, which by the way is my newest obsession ! Cropped everything : sweatshirts , t shirts , shirts! There are so many articles on the internet talking about chic ways to style a white button down shirt and these are the ones I found super duper interesting. Some of these are celebrity styles, some are fashionistas, bloggers , stylists so pick your fav!
White shirt and denims
My go to combination has to be this one like everyone else, but who knew you can make it interesting by tying a know to one of the ends of your white shirt and elevate the whole look! If you want to keep it casual for a night out, I'd suggest you add some statement earrings( preferably big earrings with colourful stones or some gold touch) and a plum lip and you , my girl, will be on fire!
You can also add a black leather jacket over this combo like Mimi Ikonn for them slightly chilly days.
The next way to get a perfect white shirt outfit straight out of Pinterest or Tumblr is to tie a black long ribbon/cloth/you can basically DIY this , in the form of a bow like in the photo below! SO so chic! I'd totally wear this with nerd glasses.
white shirt and black jeans
Another famous white shirt fashion idea is to pair it with black jeans/jeggings and a bold belt. It a classic combo yet again : super casual and comfortable.
You can also throw a denim jacket over this combo because a white shirt goes really well with black jeans and a good (preferably ripped) cropped denim jacket.
WHITE SHIRT AND NEUTRALS
Another styling tip is to wear your white shirt with neutrals. Now this can be neutral ( white, grey, beige , brown , all earthy tones) jeans/pants / jeggings/ pencil skirts or pairing your white shirt and blue/black jeans with a neutral overcoat/ pullover. A lot of celebs like Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian , Negin mirsalehi have been seen spotting this combo.
WHITE SHIRT AND SKIRT
This one is for the times you want to dress up a little but get the casual vibe still going. There are so many ways you can wear a white shirt and skirt combo.
For starters, you can pair the same with a short skirt: leather/ denim/ my favs are the forever 21 button down skirts.
White shirt and long skirt also look super super stylish and girly: Hands down one of my favourites!
Lastly, a pencil skirt also goes really well with with a white shirt. Because a white shirt is not body hugging but the pencil skirt is, this combination gives a really hot structure to the body.
diy white cropped shirt and bell bottoms (Editor's pick)
This one has to be my favourite from the whole lot. Revamp your old white shirt by cropping the same using a pair of scissors and if you want you can even add patches on the same ( H&M has a lot of good ones) . Channel your Gigi Hadid vibes by pairing the same with flared denim pants.
